We have an exciting opportunity in our corporate/commercial department for a highly skilled and enthusiastic legal assistant. The right candidate will have at least 3 years of legal assist experience or corporate/commercial experience, be exceptionally organized, able to manage multiple priorities for two busy lawyers and be a great team player.

In this diverse position your day will be challenging as you work on:

    • Assist with commercial contracts, lease agreements, share purchase matters, loan documents, and various other complex legal documents.
    • Organizing and preparing closing books, handling post closing documents, receipting payments, preparation of reporting documents.
    • Preparing accounts, posting time, receipting payments.
    • Performing dictation, draft general correspondence; opening/closing files, conflict checks organizing files, filing, photocopying.
    • Managing lawyer calendars and appointments.
    • Working knowledge of residential real estate and preparation of documents is an asset.

Work Hours:

Full time permanent position; 7 hour work day; flexible start times.

Qualifications Needed:

    • Legal Assistant Diploma is preferred
      Outstanding Word skills and attention to detail are required
    • Knowledge of searches (SPIN, PPR, APPRES, Equifax) are assets
    • A strong desire to provide outstanding customer service is a requirement
