Duncan Craig LLP was pleased to recently welcome Eric Newell, former Chair and CEO of Syncrude Canada and retired Chancellor of the University of Alberta as well as Cindy Tomnuk and her United Way colleagues as part of our 2011 United Way campaign launch. Mr. Newell spoke passionately before the Firm’s lawyers about the many people and causes that the United Way supports throughout the year with special reference made to United Way efforts to help alleviate homelessness throughout the City. Managing Partner Phil Renaud added a new element to Duncan Craig’s traditional United Way activities, challenging the Firm’s lawyers to collect “Spare Change for Positive Change”. For this initiative, each participating lawyer will save their spare change throughout the campaign period and then add these accumulated funds to the other funds raised through the Firm’s traditional United Way efforts such as the already completed “Tools for School” program. Duncan Craig LLP is proud to continue their support of the Edmonton community and congratulate and wish the best of luck to all Edmonton United Way fundraising teams and organizers.
